A graduate of the Department of Judo Physical Therapy was presented with a letter of appreciation from the Gyotoku Police Station, Chiba Prefecture.
Eiko Shibuya, a graduate of the Department of Judo Physical Therapy, Faculty of Health Care and Medical Sports, provided emergency care on Wednesday, August 6, to an elderly woman suspected of suffering from heatstroke and dehydration near Minami-Gyotoku Station, close to her workplace.
In recognition of this elderly protection activity, a letter of appreciation was presented by the Chief of the Gyotoku Police Station, Chiba Prefecture, on Tuesday, August 26.
Comment from Eiko Shibuya
At the scene, calm and composed action was required, and the medical knowledge I acquired during my studies as well as the response techniques practiced during clinical training proved useful, allowing me to act instinctively. When I received a thank-you phone call later, I truly felt joy hearing “Thank you very much.” Through this experience, I have once again realized the importance of daily learning, practice, and the ability to put knowledge into action. I am grateful for the practical education I received at Teikyo Heisei University and will continue to strive to contribute to patients visiting the osteopathic clinic as well as the local community.
