健康医療スポーツ学部 リハビリテーション学科 作業療法コース 鎗田 英樹 教授が、公益財団法人日本パラスポーツ協会・功労賞を受賞しました。

鎗田 英樹 教授は平成18年より日本精神保健福祉連盟・スポーツ推進委員会に委員として加わり、精神障がい者スポーツの実施・普及に尽力してきました。また、平成26年には日本にて初めてとなる精神障がい者バスケットボール団体「NPO法人日本ソーシャルバスケットボール協会」を設立し、初代理事長に就任しました。精神障がい者バスケットボールの実施・普及に尽力し、同年に全国大会を開催、またアジア大会の開催にも積極的な取り組みを行い、このような実績が今回の受賞に繋がりました。

Professor Hideki Yarita of the Occupational Therapy Major in the Department of Rehabilitation, Faculty of Health Care and Medical Sports, received the Merit Award from the Japan Para Sports Association, a public interest incorporated foundation.

Since 2006, Professor Yarita has served as a committee member of the Sports Promotion Committee of the Japan Federation of Mental Health and Welfare, dedicating himself to the implementation and promotion of sports for people with mental disabilities. In 2014, he established Japan’s first mental disability basketball organization, the NPO Japan Social Basketball Association, and became its first chairman. He has been deeply involved in promoting basketball for people with mental disabilities, organizing a national tournament in the same year and actively contributing to the hosting of the Asian Games. These achievements led to his receiving this prestigious award.
